When we first met Dan, he was with his dog Grizzly living at North Head, and it was super important for Dan to try and be housed with the dog because it was such a big support for him.
When I was off at accommodation, I had to take consideration that I had a dog called Grizzly. The bond between us is just unbelievable.
I didn't want to be separated from him at all.

So we work really closely with our service providers to find a home where people can keep their pets and be really comforted that they stay together.
Grizzly has been one of the best dogs I've ever had. He's my rock, he's my best friend.

“I have been working at the Housing Response Centre since 2022, to be able to assist our clients so they feel culturally connected to us.
There is a very strong Aboriginal staff connection here that can support everyone along the way. It makes me feel like I’m making a change, like I am able to assist these clients in the best way that I can, and it makes me feel proud to be Aboriginal as well. Very, very proud.
