The Committee consists of sector representatives and six members of the public who were appointed after a competitive expression of interest process. The Committee is chaired by the Mayor of Port Stephens Council.
SHAC, a reputable local architecture and planning firm, has been commissioned to lead the strategic master planning of the site.

Restoration of the storm-damaged walking track and service road have been successfully completed. The site is cleared of silt, and a new asphalt surface has been laid to prevent future damage and provide a smooth, flat walking surface for visitors to the Tomaree Headland. Additionally, erosion control logs have been installed in high water flow areas along the edge of the asphalt track. This project was managed by the National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) in partnership with DCJ.
