What to include in your application

Applications for the summer clerkship program generally open in August and run for three weeks. This website will be updated when the advertisement goes live.

Candidates must be currently studying a law degree, whether an undergraduate Bachelor of Laws or postgraduate Juris Doctor or a recent graduate.

The successful candidate will also demonstrate:

  • A strong academic record
  • Well-developed legal research and writing skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and
  • A demonstrated interest in law reform and policy development

Your application must include:

  1. 1. A 2-page statement setting out how you meet the selection criteria:
    • a strong academic record
    • well-developed legal research and writing skills
    • strong communication and interpersonal skills, and
    • a demonstrated interest in law reform and policy development.
  2. Your resume.
  3. Your academic record (unofficial record is acceptable).
  4. Your availability between specified dates.
