The health, safety and wellbeing of all staff is a key focus for DCJ Legal. Formal training is provided to support our staff dealing with challenging material including trauma informed approaches to matters and vicarious trauma training. Initiatives to promote wellbeing include staff development and team-building days, including wellness activities which have
all contributed to a culture which supports staff wellbeing.
A strong focus is made on collaboration with internal and external stakeholders at DCJ Legal. We work closely with agencies such as Legal Aid, Aboriginal Legal Services, and community partners to deliver early intervention programs, support family reunification, and enhance access to justice. The team facilitates cross-agency responses to critical incidents, and provides training and resources to front line staff, senior executive and external legal professionals, resulting in improved outcomes for vulnerable communities and more effective service delivery.
