Melinda is a 24-year-old Gomeroi woman living in Sydney. At the age of five, Melinda was placed into care with her Aunty, and has maintained strong connections to family, community and culture through her kinship placement. Melinda is a mum to two children and is expecting her third child later this year. Having had experience of care, Melinda advocates for the importance of Aboriginal identity and belonging for Aboriginal children and young people in Care.

As an AbSec Youth Ambassador, Melinda brings her lived experience kinship care in OOHC in NSW, and her personal experience as a mum to the Reference Group.
