NSW Sexual Violence Project Fund

About the grant program

This fund provides $10.5 million in grants to support one-off and time-limited early intervention and response projects that address sexual violence.

It focuses on high priority groups, including:

  • Women and children at risk of or experiencing sexual violence
  • First Nations people
  • Culturally and linguistically diverse communities (in particular, people of refugee, refugee-like experiences, and asylum seeker backgrounds)
  • Rural and remote communities
  • LGBTIQ+ people
  • Older women
  • Children and young people (in particular, those who have experienced trauma, sexual and domestic violence or who are in or leaving out-of-home care)
  • People with disability

Two funding pathways were available under the Sexual Violence Project Fund. Stream One was designed for projects between $100,000 and $1,000,000 focused on early intervention and/or response run by a single eligible entity. Stream Two was designed for projects between $500,000 and $1,500,000 focused on early intervention and/or response delivered by a group of organisations or partnership.

Co-designed early intervention group programs and multimedia resources for refugee communities across the lifespan of adolescence and adulthood. These interventions and related resources will equip people from refugee backgrounds to build awareness, knowledge, and capacity to intervene early and respond to sexual violence  $386,775

Rosie’s Place Incorporate Communities of Connection: Prevention responses to child sexual exploitation A capacity building project for workers to identify the early signs of child sexual exploitation and develop strategies and resources to prevent escalation and further sexual harm.  $681,906

The Northcott Society  Love Rights: Targeting gaps in practical sexual violence prevention for people with disability Awareness education, peer-informed and accessible resources for people with disability and an evidence-based training program for disability support workers.  $582,882
Wirringa Baiya Aboriginal Women’s Legal Centre Safety, Mind, Body and Spirit Design and deliver community educational resources/sessions which will provide critical information, awareness, support and referrals to Aboriginal women and children, community workers/services across NSW $489,540

Youth Off The Streets Limited in partnership with Youth Action NSW Taking Action, Creating Change - Together (TACCT) TACCT will provide evidence-based training to the NSW youth sector and youth specialist homelessness services to build their capacity to respond to children and young people (12-25 years) experiencing domestic, family and sexual violence.  $1,267,011
