NSW Anti-slavery Forum

The NSW Anti-slavery Forum, held twice a year, is a signature event convened by the NSW Anti-slavery Commissioner to foster an anti-slavery community of purpose. The Forum aims to bring together government, business, academia, civil society and people with lived experience to catalyse collaboration in combating modern slavery risks and harms. This two-day Forum encourages learning from and connection with others committed to combating modern slavery in our state.

The inaugural NSW Anti-slavery Forum will be held in person in Sydney on 21 and 22 May 2024. The second Anti-slavery Forum will be held online in November 2024.

May 2024 Anti-slavery Forum Program

The first day of the inaugural Anti-slavery Forum will focus on issues such as lived experience engagement, housing, health, and temporary migrant work. The second day will focus on responsible commercial practice, including the new modern slavery due diligence arrangements in NSW, renewable energy, sustainable finance, cleaning and ICT.

Lived Experience participation supports

The NSW Anti-slavery Commissioner encourages participation in the Forum by people with lived experience of modern slavery. OASC has developed specific supports to ensure this participation is both safe and meaningful. We aim to create an environment that supports trauma-informed and empathetic interactions between all participants.
