Once we receive your application, we aim to review it within 10 business days. This timeframe can vary as we prioritise applications based on the earliest possible release date of offenders.

We may contact other agencies for verification of your application or contact you for further information.

After registration, we will contact you with information about the offender and where possible, support you for the duration of their sentence.

If we cannot register you, we will explain why you are ineligible and may refer you to other support services.

We will end your registration if any of the following occur:

  • you ask us to close it
  • the offender dies
  • the offender transfers to a different state or territory, or overseas
  • the offender’s conviction against you is overturned
  • the offender transfers to another government agency such as an immigration detention or mental health facility
  • you disclose information given to you by the CSNSW Victims Register to unregistered people.
