The NSW Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) has been named Australia’s most attractive public sector employer and third-ranked employer overall according to a national study.
Recruitment company Randstad Australia surveyed more than 6,000 Australians who gave their feedback on Australia’s 75 largest employers.
DCJ Secretary Michael Tidball said the results of the annual Randstad Employer Brand Research survey demonstrated that DCJ is a trusted employer of choice.
“We are very proud to be recognised as the most attractive public sector employer in Australia,” Mr Tidball said.
“Staff at DCJ are committed to our values – service, trust, accountability, integrity and respect – which drive our work and our dedication to delivering a high standard of service to the community of NSW.”
DCJ Chief People Officer Catherine Carvolth said the report reveals the flexible and supportive workplace culture of DCJ.
“We want to acknowledge more than 25,000 staff who make it an engaging and purposeful place to work,” Ms Carvolth said.
“We’re determined to maintain our reputation as an attractive employer and strive to make DCJ an even better place to work in the years to come.”
The study covers several drivers of appeal, including job security, financial health, career progression, and convenient locations.
DCJ scored notably well on long-term job security, opportunities for career progression, and attractive salaries and benefits.
Compared to last year, DCJ increased its attractiveness as an employer across three factors: supports a good work-life balance, has a good reputation, and offers interesting job content.
