Independent evaluation of the Targeted Early Intervention (TEI) program

5 March 2024

The Department of Communities and Justice has engaged Taylor Fry, in partnership with Social Ventures Australia, and Gamarada Universal Indigenous Resources, to undertake an independent evaluation of the Targeted Early Intervention (TEI) program. The evaluation commenced in January 2023.

The key purpose of the evaluation is to understand the overall impact of the TEI program, as well as identify opportunities to improve the program. It will comprise a full process, outcome, and economic evaluation.

An external Aboriginal Reference Group, consisting of 100% Aboriginal Community-Controlled Organisation members, has been established by the evaluators to provide advice and guidance throughout the evaluation to ensure that the evaluation is undertaken in a culturally safe way.

The interim evaluation report is expected to be ready 1 July 2024 and the final evaluation report in approximately October 2024. Both reports will be published on the DCJ website.
