Mental Health Awareness Workshop

Course overview

This workshop is designed to increase a general understanding and awareness of mental health disorders, including symptoms and associated behaviour. Helpful interactions and strategies to support those experiencing mental illness will also be explored.

The workshop is highly interactive with group discussions and presentations, videos and practical exercises. 

Learners will gain the most from this training if they are open and committed to making a genuine difference to the psychological health of others.

​Course outcomes

​Learners will be able to develop the knowledge and skills to:

  • identify features of a number of prevalent mental disorders,
  • respond and assist someone living with mental illness,
  • refer someone living with mental illness for further support, and 
  • navigate through a complex case involving mental illness.  

Entry requirements

Open to all operational staff.

Delivery mode

This workshop will require completion of the following;

  • Face to face / Virtual attendance (2 days)
