Online and face-to-face craft classes,a music industry professionals’ masterclass and an outdoor yoga workshop are among 27 events that will promote and support women’s education, employment and wellbeing during NSW Women’s Week.

Minister for Women Bronnie Taylor said the events funded through the NSW Government’s NSW Women’s Week Grants program would help communities connect and celebrate the diverse contributions of local women.

“From the paddock to the playground, the boardroom to the building site, women are at the heart of our vision to build a safer, stronger New South Wales,” Mrs Taylor said.

“As well as bringing women together to celebrate and inspire each other, this program of events will deliver a wide range of practical supports to help women right across our fabulous state.”

“We’re celebrating women from all of walks of life and I’m delighted that the schedule of events reflects both the creativity and diversity of the women in their communities.”

NSW Women’s Week begins on March 8 and promotes gender equality while celebrating the social, cultural and political achievements of women.

Other events which will be funded under the program include a natural stress relief strategy workshop hosted by the Atholwood Country Women's Association, an evening of women's live storytelling at the Bega Valley Shire Library and a program delivering free tax advice for financially vulnerable women through the UNSW Women's Wellbeing Academy and Tax Clinic.

Events support at least one of the key priorities of the NSW Women’s Strategy 2018-2022 by improving women’s financial wellbeing and security, encouraging a holistic approach to health and wellbeing or helping women to build confidence and celebrate their achievements.
