Project objective

Review quarterly NDIS Utilisation reports for children and young people (CYP) in out of home care (OOHC) provided by DCJ Engagement and Family Support (EFS) team and ensure full utilisation of NDIS entitlements for children  in care.

The challenge

Full utilisation of NDIS entitlements for children in care. Children in care receive full NDIS benefits to improve life outcomes; education, employment.

Recorded increase in NDIS benefits received

Worked in partnership with the DCJ Engagement and Family Support (EFS) team in relation to accessing NDIS entitlements for children and young people in out of home care provided by DCJ 

July 2022

Districts have not received any recent NDIS Utilisation report since 2022. Liaised with EFS undergoing improvements. District expressed an interest in being involved in EFS information sessions with casework staff to increase NDIS Plan utilisation
