Children's Court New South Wales

Legal help with compulsory schooling cases

Legal Aid NSW

Legal Aid's Care & Protection Service provides a duty service  at the court to parents or children in court proceedings relating to compulsory schooling orders. This includes any application made by the Department of Education to make, vary or revoke a compulsory schooling order.

Duty lawyers appear for clients on the first court date and mention dates. If you would like a lawyer to attend a conference with you or represent you at a hearing, you will need to apply for a Legal Aid grant.
