Question: I have just received a Notice of Inclusion. What do I have to do?

Receiving a Notice of Inclusion is the first step in the process of jury selection. If you have been sent a     Notice of Inclusion, it means that during the next 12 months you may receive a jury summons to go to court.

It is important that you log on to juror.nsw.gov.au to:

· Update your contact details (phone and email)

· Set up SMS notifications

· Any change in your personal details, such as a change of name or address

· Add in your banking details

· Request that your name be removed from the jury roll because you are excluded (not eligible) or are exempt from jury service.

· Advise us of your pre booked holidays

 

Question: I have received a Summons for Jury Service. What do i have to do?

Your summons is a legal document, which you must obey. 

What to do next

On the last working day before your summons, check that you are still required, by visiting juror.nsw.gov.au or calling 1300 780 199 after 4.30pm. Trials can sometimes change at the last minute, so it's important to check. If the trial is scheduled for a Tuesday, you can check after 4.30pm on the Monday before.

 

Question: I have to attend Court for Jury Duty. What should I expect at Court?

On the day of your summons, you will arrive to your court  complex and be directed to an area for juror processing. A Court or Sheriff’s Officer will ask you some relevant questions and then check your availability to serve. Please bring your Identification with you, such as a driver licence, identity card or your passport.
