Directorate: Digital Experience Unit

Division: Corporate Services

Project summary

Focus Area:

  • Developing positive community attitudes and behaviours.
  • Creating liveable communities
  • Improving access to mainstream services through better systems and processes.

Project objective

Creation of five practical eLearning modules to train Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) staff in creating accessible information and documents.

The challenge

  1. This project will address the challenge of staff not knowing how to create accessible content or documents, and potentially publishing or sending information to other staff and external customers/stakeholders that is not accessible.
  2. eLearning modules will support the existing Accessible digital communications module and provide DCJ staff with practical information on making their digital content and documents (Word, Excel, PDF, PowerPoint) accessible using the Accessibiltiy checker tool available in these applications.

What will success look like?

1. Five additional eLearning modules will be available for staff in Thrive LMS
2. Success will be measured through Thrive metrics on module completion and evidence of skill uplift through course pre and post surveys.
