Communities and Justice

I want to request an Aboriginal caseworker

Aboriginal families dealing with DCJ can ask to speak to an Aboriginal caseworker.

Meeting your request will depend on whether an Aboriginal caseworker is available in your local area and/or on the day you require.

When using our phone services such as the Child Protection Helpline, you can ask that an Aboriginal caseworker call you back when available.

We want to work with Aboriginal communities in culturally appropriate ways and are focused on growing our team of Aboriginal caseworkers.

In working with Aboriginal families and communities we are committed to:

  • respecting and valuing your culture and connection to community
  • taking the time to understand the history of Aboriginal people and how this affects Aboriginal people today
  • supporting self determination.
