The elements of this Strategic Plan

Our unifying commitment is to work together for a stronger, safer and fairer NSW. We want to strengthen communities, create a safer society for all to live in and enable fairer, more accessible and inclusive decision-making. This is a commitment we make to ourselves, to those people, families and communities we serve, and to the organisations that we work with.

The priorities and their areas of focus, the ways of working and our values will strengthen our support for the commitment statement.

The five priorities are made up of:

• three outward facing priorities that contribute to better outcomes for those we serve
• two inward facing priorities for our people, our systems and our assets, which will enable us to deliver on the outward facing priorities.

We have identified priorities that have commonalities across all service areas. Within each priority, the areas of focus present the key opportunities for our collective effort over the life of the Strategic Plan. There are examples of good work already started in each area of focus, and we will need to build on what we’ve achieved so far.

 The ways of working define how we put our values of Service, Trust, Accountability, Integrity and Respect into action. They will help us to deliver our commitment and priorities. We can see examples of these ways of working throughout DCJ already, and we will encourage our staff to embrace a culture of growth to embed the ways of working over the next five years.
