Our shared purpose is at the heart of everything we do at the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ). It connects us across diverse teams, services, and communities – and we bring it to life by working together every day to support people, strengthen systems, and deliver better outcomes across New South Wales.
This Strategic Plan builds on the work already taking place across justice, community services, disability, housing, homelessness, and the systems that support them. This work is driven by our commitment to improving lives and strengthening communities. It outlines five priorities that help us connect efforts across divisions, services, and functions:

Thank you to everyone across DCJ – including staff reference groups, staff diversity networks, and all staff – and to all of the agencies, organisations, and communities we partner with, for providing input and feedback to this plan. This plan belongs to all of us – reflecting who we are, what we value, and how we work together.
