Better connected data and information-sharing processes

We are ready to take the next steps as a data-driven organisation and develop DCJ’s data maturity. It is critical that our staff and decision-makers have access to an accurate and holistic view of the people and families we serve. We will enable more streamlined and efficient service provision and evidence-based decision-making through a combined and coordinated approach to using data.

We will consider and promote the use of linked data to evaluate services and programs when considering policy and reform changes. Where appropriate, we will also strengthen our information-sharing, to enhance the effectiveness of our data systems and assets.

Within appropriate legal, ethical and privacy settings, we will find opportunities to better connect data and promote information-sharing across our existing systems.

Our work will be guided by the principles of Indigenous Data Sovereignty and Indigenous Data Governance, in recognition of the inherent rights of Aboriginal peoples and communities over the collection and application of Aboriginal data.
