Where appropriate, we will work with communities and support their leadership to engage their unique strengths, needs and aspirations on place-based priorities and designing local solutions. This includes working with our CAPO partners at a local level, Local Decision Making and community representative bodies, existing local Aboriginal governance groups, place-based mechanisms and local accords, and engaging with Elders and respected community members with permission to represent the interests of communities.
Working in a place-based way to understand targeted solutions ensures that our services meet the needs of those local communities. Additionally, what we learn from these place-based approaches has the potential to be scaled-up and applied at a system-level, building on the connection to communities at different locations and creating a blueprint for how we work with Aboriginal people, families and communities.
