DCJ consulted with important community groups and sought feedback from the general public about the draft Masterplan. The following changes were made based on that feedback:
The masterplan identifies eight key zones across the Tomaree Lodge site, each with its own footprint and purpose.
A masterplan is a long-term, high-level document that sets out a vision to guide the future growth and development of a specific area. It provides conceptual layout, outlining land uses, building forms, public and private spaces, and how these elements connect. It also helps define the desired character of an area and how it can be maintained and enhanced over time.
The Masterplan for the renewal of Tomaree Lodge was developed by SHAC, in partnership with DCJ and after extensive community consultation.
DCJ is taking a staged approach to implementing the recomendations in the Masterplan. A timeline for the next two years can be found in our Delivery Plan.
The NSW Government has promised to keep Tomaree Lodge in public hands. The current site is no longer fit for purpose, and it will be transformed into a safe, accessible site that is sensitive to the ecology and in line with heritage requirements.
